How much does Roster cost?

One subscription per venue, priced by team size (AUD, ex GST): free up to 10 team members, $25/month for 11-30, $50/month for 31-100, and $100/month for 101+. The core - scheduling, timesheets, clock-in, payroll export, plain-English insights and the Supp marketplace - is on every plan, including the free one. Your bill only changes when your team crosses a band, not with every hire. Events is the one optional paid add-on (see below).

Is the free plan actually free?

Yes. Up to 10 team members, no credit card to sign up, no time limit, and it includes the same core features as paid plans - insights, clock-in, timesheets and Supp marketplace shift cover included. It becomes a paid plan only if your team grows past 10 people.

How is Roster different from Deputy?

Two main ways. Pricing: Deputy charges per user, so the bill climbs with every single hire - Roster is one price per venue within a team-size band. Scope: Roster covers what a single venue actually uses (rosters, timesheets, clock-in, shift cover, events and labour insights) instead of enterprise workforce-management settings. And when a shift goes unfilled, Roster can push it to the Supp marketplace - something no rostering tool with a built-in casual pool offers in Australia.

What is the Supp marketplace integration?

Supp is our staffing marketplace of vetted hospitality casuals. When a rostered shift is still unfilled, you can push it from the roster straight to Supp and a casual picks it up - instead of group-texting your own list at 9pm. Venues connected to Supp also get 5% off every Roster invoice.

How do I get my existing roster and team into Roster?

Take a screenshot. The import tool reads a photo or screenshot of your current roster - Deputy, 7shifts, a spreadsheet, even a printed sheet - and extracts your workers, shifts and roles in seconds. You review everything before invites go out by SMS and email.

Do my workers need to download an app?

No. Roster is web-based and works like an app on any phone. Workers get an SMS or email with a link that signs them in - they can see shifts, confirm them, clock in and out, submit timesheets and request leave from their browser.

How does clock-in work?

Workers clock in from their own phone, with GPS recorded so you can see they were actually on site - or you can set up kiosk mode on a venue tablet so the team clocks in at the till. Timesheets are created automatically from clock-ins and go to you for approval.

Does Roster handle award rates and penalty rates?

Yes - AU hospitality and restaurant award classifications are built in, with weekday, Saturday, Sunday and public-holiday loadings costed live as you build the roster, so you see the wage bill before you publish. You can also set your own rates per person.

How does payroll work?

Roster handles everything up to the pay run: clock-ins become timesheets, you approve them (with bulk approval and pay-cycle views that match your pay run), then send them straight to Xero or MYOB payroll - employees, approved timesheets and leave balances sync across - or export to CSV/Excel for any other payroll system or bookkeeper. Accountants and office staff can be marked payroll-exempt so they never clog your pay run.

Can Roster handle events and functions?

Yes. The Events module plans one-off functions and events: build a staffing run sheet by role, draft or assign the shifts you need, keep a client book, track prep on a kanban board and reuse event templates. Every venue can try Events free for 30 days from the first event you create; after that it is a $20/month add-on. Your event data is never locked - you can always read it, even once a trial ends.

What can the AI actually do?

You can ask Roster anything about your venue in plain English - labour vs sales, attendance, no-shows, leave, wage costs - and it answers from your own data, with follow-up questions keeping the thread. Roster also drafts rosters and suggests shift assignments. It suggests; you decide - nothing is published or changed without a manager approving it first.

Where is my data stored?

In Australia, on infrastructure hosted in Sydney. Your roster, timesheet and team data belongs to you.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Subscriptions are monthly with no lock-in - cancel and you keep access until the end of the billing period. If your team shrinks below a band threshold, your price steps down too.

What if I need help getting set up?

We onboard new venues personally - it usually takes under an hour including importing your current roster and inviting the team. Email us via the in-app help or at the address in your welcome email and a human (not a bot) replies.
